Hair
removal can be performed with a 1064nm wavelength through selective
absorption by melanin in the hair follicle. This absorption
converts light into heat energy that raised the temperature, thus
altering and destroying the hair follicle. Results depend on many
variables, including the stage of hair growth, depth of follicles,
hair color, texture and hormonal influence.
The long-pulsed 1064nm CoolTouch VARIA™ meets the necessary
requirements for hair removal in all skin types by providing:

Cooling

Pre-cooling
Pre-cooling
can protect the epidermis from damage due to direct absorption of
1064 light by basal layer melanin.

Are
there any after effects?
Dark hair may turn
white during treatment, will easily slough off in 2-3 weeks. Skin
may be slightly reddened for a brief time. Otherwise, no treatment
effects should be visible.
How
many treatments will I need?
Every hair on the body
has 3 continuous phases of life: a growth phase, a rest phase and a
hair loss phase. Treatments are most effective during the hair's
growth phase. It may take several procedures to "catch" and treat
each hair during its growth phase.
What
parts of the body can be treated?
Any skin areas can be
treated. Results are best on large open areas (legs, back, etc.),
but depending on your own biological factors, all hair will react to
some positive degree. The Medlite IV also helps relieve painful and
unsightly chronic ingrown hairs, commonly associated with a man's
beard or a woman's bikini line.
Does
Laser Hair Removal work for everyone?
The Cool Touch™ works
best on dark hair and does not work well on blond hair. It has no
effect on white hair. |
